SMS Appointment Reminder Service
PracticeCore AI provides SMS appointment reminder services to dental practices and their patients. By opting in to receive SMS messages, you agree to receive transactional appointment-related communications from your dental practice.
Message Types You May Receive
- Appointment Reminders: Sent 24-48 hours before your scheduled appointment
- Appointment Confirmations: Immediate confirmation after booking an appointment
- Schedule Changes: Notifications if your practice needs to reschedule
- Recall Reminders: Reminders when you're due for routine checkups
- Verification Codes: Security codes for patient portal access
Message Frequency
You can expect to receive approximately 1-3 messages per month, depending on your appointment schedule and recall frequency. Messages are transactional only - we do not send promotional or marketing messages.
How to Opt-In
Consent is always required before sending SMS messages. You can provide consent to receive SMS appointment reminders through any of these methods:
- Online Appointment Booking: Check the SMS opt-in box when scheduling appointments through your dental practice's website or patient portal
- Phone Scheduling: Provide verbal consent when scheduling by phone (documented by office staff)
- In-Office Registration: Sign consent on patient intake or registration forms during your visit
- Patient Portal: Enable SMS notifications in your account settings at any time
Note: Opting in is completely voluntary. You can choose to receive appointment reminders via email or phone call instead.
How to Opt-Out (Unsubscribe)
You may opt-out of SMS messages at any time using any of these methods:
- Reply STOP: Text STOP to any message to immediately unsubscribe
- Call Your Practice: Contact your dental office and request to opt-out
- Patient Portal: Disable SMS notifications in your account settings
- In-Office: Request opt-out during your next visit
You will receive one final confirmation message after opting out.
Message & Data Rates
Standard message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier's plan. PracticeCore AI does not charge for SMS messages, but your carrier may charge for incoming text messages.
HIPAA Compliance & Privacy
PracticeCore AI is HIPAA compliant. All SMS messages:
- Contain minimal protected health information (PHI) - typically only date and time
- Are transmitted securely through HIPAA-compliant systems
- Are covered by Business Associate Agreements between practices and PracticeCore AI
- Do not include detailed treatment information or sensitive health data

Supported Carriers
Our SMS service works with all major U.S. carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, and most regional carriers. If you experience delivery issues, please contact your dental practice.
